WEAPONS CLASSES
WE TEACH TRADITIONAL OKINAWAN WEAPONS CLASSES ON MONDAY AND THURSDAY EVENINGS FROM 6:00 P.M. UNTIL 7:00 P.M. WE TEACH THE ANCIENT ART OF KOSHIN-RYU KOBUDO (ANCIENT WEAPONS). OUR STUDENTS FIRST WILL LEARN THE BO STAFF THAN TONFAS, SAIS, NUNCHAKUS, AND LAST THEY WILL LEARN THE KAMAS.
WEAPONS ARE AN EXTENSION OF THEIR KARATE AND FOR CHILDREN THIS WILL BE AN EARNED PRIVELEGE TO ATTEND WEAPONS CLASSES.
THESE ARE THE ONLY CLASSES WHERE WE WILL MIX ADULTS AND CHILDREN. THIS IS A NO-NONSENSE CLASS THAT REQUIRES CHILDREN TO AT LEAST HAVE THEIR SECOND KARATE COLORED BELT, ORANGE BELT, TO ATTEND.
ADULTS MAY ATTEND AFTER THEIR FIRST KARATE BELT LEVEL, YELLOW BELT. EVERYONE WILL START OVER AS A WHITE BELT IN KOBUDO AS THIS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT ART THAN KARATE.
WE WILL TEACH HOW TO USE THE WEAPONS THEMSELVES AND AGAINST THE OTHER WEAPONS. WE WILL ALSO TEACH WEAPONS KATA FOR PRACTICE AND FOR COMPETITION. SHIHAN KING HAS BEEN STATE CHAMPION IN WEAPONS MORE THAN ONCE AND HAS PRODUCED MANY STATE CHAMPIONS IN WEAPONS COMPETITION.
